I’m trying to avoid doing strips about “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” due to the varying opinions on the subject. However, I couldn’t resist revisiting this strip to throw up this profound benefit of letting gays serve openly in the military: better dressed Marines. It’s no secret that gay men are fashion experts–though I’m not sure if it’s that all gay men are fashion experts or that all male fashion experts are gay. Either way, this is undoubtedly a good thing, as many Marines, old and young alike, dress abysmally bad.
There’s a very simple reason that gay men are so profoundly knowledgeable in the field of fashion: Gay men see other men with an eye of attraction, much the same way a straight woman does. The difference, however, is that since they are men, they know not only what looks good on you, but probably what is comfortable as well. Whereas if a straight woman dresses you, you may look good to her, but you feel completely miserable with your balls being crushed by some awful pair of pants you spent too much money on.
Poor fashion doesn’t just apply to boots though; while most Marines do ultimately start to dress normal after they’ve been on their own for a little bit, some seem to miss that boat entirely. I’ve seen Sergeant Majors walking around in their civilian attire that looked like they got dressed in the dark by a mentally handicapped lesbian (think about it…).
In site news, there’s been some problems with the ads recently and I’d like to apologize to anyone who got the brunt of it. The malicious ads have been removed so you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.
Otherwise, look forward to some big things coming up in the near future. (I know, I’ve been saying that forever, but now I actually have the time to do them)
Sorry for the late update, but have a good weekend. Oh, and don’t forget, Saturday is supposed to be Judgement Day (if you’re mildly retarded), so make sure you keep an eye out for any demons, angels or stray Jesi that happen to be wandering around.
