I dunno about anyone else, but whenever there’s an Eagle, Globe and Anchor fastened upon the rear bumper or window of a car I can seemingly spot it from anywhere. It’s almost like an innate reaction, some kind of Spidy-Sense; as if programmed into the very being of your soul once you depart MCRD. You’ll always see it, it’s always watching, waiting… Okay I think I mentioned previously that I’m a huge LOTR nerd, so deal with it. I wouldn’t say that this power is a bad thing, it’s just a thing. I suppose it could be bad if you had a bad relationship to the Marine Corps and your time in, or currently have one.
I’m not sure how I would characterize my relationship to the Corps. I kind of proliferated the idea of the disgruntled Lance Corporal with this blessed webcomic of mine, but I’ve mentioned before that I never hated the Marine Corps. I try to keep my distance and look at everything with a grain of salt. Terminal Lance or not, I wouldn’t trade my time in the Corps for anything.
The holidays are over, I’m happy to be back in the beautiful San Francisco bay area. Oregon was great, but gloomy and 30 degrees all day, every day gets old pretty quick. Hopefully you didn’t miss me too much on Friday. To make up for it, I present to you this thing I picked up on the road… our most beloved star.
