Terminal Lance “Camp Pendleton Movie Night”

So um… did you guys notice that Camp Pendleton is on fire?

I feel like someone should probably do something about that… I’m just curious because no one mentioned on “The Corps Report” today (this is a thing now I guess):

I mean seriously, all of that stuff is cool and all but Camp Pendleton is like… in flames. You could have thrown that little tidbit in there somewhere. Also, Main, please eat a fucking steak or something. Srsly.

Anyway, obviously this is a pretty serious event and I’m not trying to make light of it. The new Godzilla being released is also a very serious event and I don’t want to make light of that either. It’s gotten 75% on Rotten Tomatoes so far, so that’s pretty good for a monster movie. How often do you get to see a meth lord with lung cancer go toe-to-toe with a giant radioactive monster? Not often enough, frankly.

More importantly though, southern California is in the midst of an inferno. The most time I ever spent at Camp Pendleton was my time at SOI West, and during that time we actually started a much smaller fire on the SAW range due to the tracer rounds igniting the dry brush. It’s a common event in the area, and the beautiful state of California is in a particularly bad drought this year, which certainly didn’t help in the current situation.

My best wishes go out to all of the Marines and families out in Camp Pendleton and the surrounding areas. Except Oceanside, fuck that place.
